The 60 Hours Film Making Challenge, now in its fourth edition, and is a part of the WAVES International Short Film Festival Goa, the contest which was limited to the state of Goa has expanded to a national level in India. This contest aims to provide a platform for talented filmmakers, both seasoned professionals and newcomers, to create and showcase their work. Filmmakers from across the country will compete, with a jury of industry professionals reviewing entries and selecting the best films for screening at the festival.
We are confident that the 60 Hours Film Making Challenge will serve as a valuable platform for filmmakers to share their work with a wider audience and gain recognition for their talent and creativity.

The inaugural edition of the contest took place in December 2020 at Ravindra Bhavan Margao, where the winning film, "The First Wedding," directed by Akshay Parvatkar, won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Female) at the Filmfare Short Film Awards 2021.In December 2021, the second edition featured "Wagro," directed by Sainath S Uskaikar, which gained recognition at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 and was part of the Indian Panorama at the 53rd IFFI 2022. "Wagro" also received multiple accolades at various festivals worldwide. The third edition held as a part of 'WAVES' International Short Film Festival 2023, attracting enthusiastic participation. The film "Ek Sur," directed by Glen Cardozo, won 1st place along with other major awards, while "Marvat," directed by Rajaram Gopal Turi, which had received a Special Jury Mention and was screened at the International Film Festival of India - Goa Section. We are confident that the 60 Hours Film Making Contest will continue to serve as a valuable platform for filmmakers to showcase their work to a wider audience.
